Environmental Assessment of the site of interest

WINDFOR provides technical assistance to verify the correct placement of the wind farm in the area, the main environmental conditions of the site of interest (e.g., temperature, precipitation, geology, hydrogeology and geotechnical engineering, seismic situation, accessibility for transportation, etc.) and their possible criticality with respect to the construction and/or operation of the plant, the possible interference with areas subject to constraints, the compliance with the requirements for the acoustic and electromagnetic compatibility of wind turbines and, when required, also the compliance of the project with the “Equator Principles” developed by the “Equator Principles Financial Institutions”, to minimize the social and environmental risks of the loans granted under the scheme of the Project Financing.

The technical assistance services may cover:

  • Inclusion, from the landscape point of view, of the project in the area
  • Review of interference with areas subject to constraints
  • Review of the Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Definition of specific environmental conditions at the site (temperatures, site specific air density, rains, lightning strikes, ice and snow)
  • Evaluation of the geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical studies available
  • Evaluation of seismic characterization of the area
  • Blade Throw Analysis
  • Noise Impact Assessment and phonometric measurements campaigns
  • Shadow Flickering Analysis
  • Electromagnetic Impact Assessment
  • Visual perception and 3D simulations
  •  “Equator Principles” Assessment
