Eng. Marco GUARNEROLI, Chairman
Graduated in Aerospace Engineering at Polytechnic of Milan (Italy) and admitted to the Order of Engineers of Milan.
In 2004 he began to be involved in Wind Energy, carrying out activities mainly related to the wind data analysis, the wind resource characterization, the assessment of the expected production of wind farms and the optimization of layout by using advanced software for the modeling of the wind, being also WAsP and WindSim Certified User.
Since 2005 he has joined WINDFOR where is involved, as well as site assessment, also in Technical Due Diligence and Technical Advice activities as Senior Consultant.
The experience gained in the conduct of such activities on the Italian scene has also been reinforced by numerous experiences abroad in both European and non-European countries.
P.I. Riccardo CASTAGNA, Partner
Qualified in electrical engineering at the Technical Institute of Lecco (Italy).
Since 1980 he has been working in Wind Energy, becoming expert in wind measurements and wind data analysis, wind and energy assessment and layout optimization.
He participated in the VELE Project (“Wind for Electricity”) of ENEL, the Italian first experience in Wind Energy, coordinating the network of wind measurements campaigns, organizing the database of wind data and performing computation programs for their handling and processing.
In 1990 he was assigned to the Unity “Wind and Photovoltaic Generation” of the Electrical Research Center l of ENEL, whose task was to handle the processing of wind data coming from a network of over 150 met masts.
He was involved, as a representative of ENEL, in several research projects co-financed by the European Commission, in particular at the EURE Project, for the study of an European wind farm.
Riccardo CASTAGNA is a Partner of WINDFOR from the foundation of the company and he has been Adviser to the Board from 2004 to 2012. He is member of the Technical Committee of WINDFOR.
Arch. Michele CINGOTTI, Partner
Graduate in Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan and admitted to the Order of Architects of Milan.
Since 1988 he has been involved in Wind and Solar Energy at the “Centro Ricerche Elettriche” of ENEL, becoming expert in environmental compatibility, site assessment and optimization of layout. In particular, he was devoted to the study of the environmental impact of the HV airline proposing an original methodology published in trade magazines, and has produced the first study ever done in Italy of environmental impact for a wind power plant that is the wind farm “Buffaviento” in Celle san Vito (FG).
He also has participated in the development of photovoltaic projects of Tione degli Abruzzi, Milan, Venice and Ginostra in the Aeolian Islands.
Michele CINGOTTI is a Partner of WINDFOR from the foundation of the company and he has been Adviser to the Board from 2004 to 2012. He is member of the Technical Committee of WINDFOR.
Dr. Paolo PAOLI, Partner
Graduate in Mathematics at the University of Milan.
Since 1980 he has been involved in Wind Energy, having experience in wind power systems, the technology of wind turbines, technical standards and wind site assessment, the technical aspects of contracts and Project Management.
He actively participated in the EURE, INTERSUDMED and IRESMED Projects co-financed by EU Commission. These Projects aimed to studying and promoting the diffusion and the application of renewable energies (wind, solar, biomasses) among the South Mediterranean Countries, namely Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Palestine, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco.
He is a permanent expert-evaluator of the EU Commission for wind energy technology and is also member of Italian Technical Committee 88 – Wind turbines.
Paolo PAOLI is a Partner of WINDFOR from the foundation of the company and he has been its Vice-President from 2004 to 2012. He is member of the Technical Committee of WINDFOR.
